The Ranch in Fairfax, CA, is a cherished piece of West Marin's history, with roots stretching back to the 1800s. The Still Collective — in partnership with a local property investor, and in collaboration with Erin Werner Landscape Design, Element Artworks Gallery, local Marin artists including Bree Cutts, Kambric Goods, MMclay Ceramics, Doug Walker, Sophie Bracewell, Jaime Lovejoy, Jessyjo Darling, and Kevin Mirsky — are breathing new life into this historic landmark by transforming the barn and house while preserving The Ranch's unique charm and integrity.

The transformed Ranch is a dynamic gathering space that showcases the creativity of local artists, serving as a cultural center that celebrates community spirit. The Gallery at The Ranch features diverse works by local artists, attracting art lovers and visitors eager to explore beautifully landscaped grounds, sculptures, and unique design pieces. This initiative is designed to draw natural foot traffic, making Fairfax a must-visit destination for hikers, bikers, and art enthusiasts alike.

Erin Werner Landscape Designs

Erin Werner, a West Marin native, brings her deep-rooted connection to the local landscape into her work as a landscape designer, specializing in planting design and spatial layout. Her expertise encompasses creating patios, pathways, steps, and minor non-engineered retaining walls, all infused with a distinct sense of place and creativity that reflects the natural beauty of Marin. 

Passionate about diverse planting styles, Erin collaborates with architects and builders from the early stages of remodels or joins projects later to focus on plantings after hardscape installation. She also offers landscape refreshes, providing rough cost estimates to ensure project clarity. Erin's talent for selecting furniture and decor further enhances outdoor spaces, creating harmonious and inviting environments.

Her work at The Ranch is a testament to her creativity and commitment to her local roots, leaving a beautiful and lasting impact on the landscape that resonates with the natural charm of the area.

Element Artworks

Brandon Stieg, a sculptor hailing from Marin County, CA, infuses his creations with the essence of the local landscape, drawing inspiration from the natural world and industrial relics. His fascination with the mysteries of reality and imaginary worlds, rooted in his childhood, fuels his artistic vision. Brandon honed his skills in studio arts and architecture at the University of Colorado at Boulder, shaping his unique approach to sculpture.

Specializing in hand-forged metalwork and wood carving, Brandon's detailed pieces are celebrated both locally and internationally. His work, which is both conceptual and reflective of the human experience, masterfully contrasts meticulous metal craftsmanship with the soft, balanced forms of wood. This distinctive blend highlights his creative talent and deep connection to his Marin County roots.

Bree cutts

Bree Cutts is a talented local designer and illustrator known for her exquisite screen prints and story-based patterns. Her work combines digital production and hand-printing techniques to create unique, captivating pieces that tell compelling stories. Bree is thrilled to use The Ranch as her workspace, where she will continue to develop her art and bring her narrative-driven designs to life for the greater Bay Area community.

We are excited to showcase local artist Doug Walker and his remarkable Lost & Found Collection, which features beautiful vintage art and surf photography. Doug's work captures the essence of surfing culture from the 1970s to the present day, honoring its rich history and enduring spirit.

His mantra, "Always Aloha," is reflected in every piece, aiming to celebrate and preserve the unique stories and moments of the surfing world. The new space at The Ranch provides an inspiring backdrop for this collection, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the nostalgic and vibrant world of vintage surf art.

kambric goods

Kambric Goods, a vibrant Bay Area-based brand by designer Daisy Hartmann, brings contemporary pieces to life with original mid-century prints from a private archive of over 300 hand-painted textile designs by her late grandmother. Drawing on her rich family history and her training at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Daisy seamlessly blends current trending silhouettes with her grandmother's colorful, groovy prints in her new line of resort wear.

Daisy, now a Northern California resident, is excited to display her vintage-inspired designs and use The Ranch to bring these uniquely and sustainably made garments to life. Explore Daisy's work and shop her stunning creations here. Daisy will be offering on-site chainstitch embroidery and taking larger-scale embroidery commissions as well offering a curated selection of complementary pieces from local designers.

mmclay at the ranch


MMclay is a San Francisco based small production pottery business specializing in handmade tableware and homeware, designed by owner and ceramic artist MaryMar Keenan. MMclay is excited to showcase their uniquely handcrafted ceramics in their 1964 MMclay Airstream shop as well as The Ranch's MMclay studio space where MaryMar herself plans to bring new and existing designs to life.

MMclay's beautifully crafted ceramics have been featured in prestigious publications like Food & Wine Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, and Goop, and can be found in restaurants around the world as well as dining tables and kitchens around the country. Their pottery is designed to elevate daily routines, whether it's your morning coffee, family dinner, or home decor. MMclay's presence at The Ranch will highlight the slow beauty that human hands can create, making each piece a cherished addition to any home.
